Description
This course introduces the participant to programming in the Win32™ environment, the premier programming kernel of Microsoft Windows Operating systems. The course is a comprehensive introduction to various aspects of Win32 programming. The participant will acquire hands on experience programming in the Windows environment by testing code examples, and by solving selected exercises. Each example is a documented and realistic C program that demonstrates a real-life situation, and is ready to be used by the participant as a skeleton for future projects. Windows2000™ introduces the PC world to preemptive multitasking and multithreading. This course teaches the participant how to use these tools, and the synchronization mechanisms enabling improvement of application development. The participant will meet the two programming paradigms of windows, the Console User Interface (CUI) and the Graphical User Interface (GUI). The participant will learn to use Mailslots, NamedPipes, and Sockets - the mechanisms supplied by Win32 for communication between cooperating local and remote processes and threads
Intended audience
The course is intended for programmers and software designers that are new to Microsoft, but have a good working knowledge of basic OS concepts.
