Interop - Version: 1
.NET Interoperability
1 day course
Description
This course introduces the fundamental tools and features provided by the Microsoft's .NET platform to enable interoperability with already existing “non-.NET” (termed “unmanaged”) code. Being a new programming platform, the .NET abilities to interoperate with existing unmanaged code are dramatically important. They enable correct, efficient and incremental migration to the new environment, allowing the adoption of its advanced technologies without loosing all existing components. The course provides advanced knowledge of the different .NET interoperability tools and features: • Platform Invoke services: enables calling C DLL functions (including WIN API) from .NET code. • COM interoperability: enables .NET - COM interactions in the two directions: From .NET to COM components and from COM application to .NET components. • CPP/CLI: a language that gives to the developer, the ability to mix managed and unmanaged code in the same language, thus giving him the power to overcome many interop problems, and an easy migration from old C++ programs. • The course includes frontal lectures, lots of code examples and several exercises.
Intended audience
This course is intended for project managers, project designers, programmers, and engineers.
